“Printing” an IAA guitar track

Post by supanorton » Sat Feb 23, 2019 7:23 am

I wanted to get an idea down quickly and loaded Bias FX as an IAA to get my sound and record it with a drum track. I didn’t plan on keeping it, but it’s got some mojo.

Is there an easy way to “print” the effects from Bias FX so it doesn’t load every time I open the project?

I apologize for not searching this topic, but I’m a little pressed for time right now.

Yes it's dead easy: in the editor view select the track and then go to Process --> Bounce in Place.

This will automatically print the effected audio and unload the plugins.

I’m finally getting back to working on this track. I tap/highlight the region I want to bounce in place, but “bounce in place” is greyed out, unselectable. When I tap/highlight the track control on the far left of the edit view (track #; mute; solo; audio) “bounce in place” is accessible, but the process erases the sound.

What am I doing wrong?

The IAA app I’m using is Bias FX

After some more tinkering, I did a mixdown to new track, first soloing the guitar track, then muting the drum track. Both of those resulted in creating a track with no sound and a flat waveform. I got the same result after closing all apps and restarting Auria Pro.

Next, I soloed the guitar track, went to mixdown, and changed “channels” from stereo to mono. This worked.

Not sure why the “bounce in place” or stereo mixdown didn’t work, but I’ve got the results I was after.
