Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
Hi,
If I use an aux send on a subgroup, the post-fader option does not appear to work correctly.
To reproduce:
Make sure aux sends are set to post-fader in settings.
Create track 1 with audio. Set output to Sub 1
Create track 2, set input to Aux 1. Add classic verb.
On Sub 1, set fader to 0, raise aux 1 send to full.
Play.
Audio and reverb play correctly.
On sub 1, lower fader to -inf
Expected: track 1 audio and aux 1 reverb should fade out
Encountered: track 1 audio fades, reverb remains.
If you then move sub 1 aux send, it immediately cuts the reverb.
I believe that when set to post fader, the sub aux sends set their aux levels according to where the faders are at the time of moving the aux send pots, but do not update if the faders are moved subsequently until the send pot is moved again.
Post-fader Aux sends work fine on normal tracks - it’s just the subs that seem to cause problems.
Is this a known issue, or have I done something daft?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
This still seems to be broken in 2.20.
Is it just me, or has anyone else experienced it? I’d love to find out I’m doing something odd so I can fix it...

I haven't had a chance to look into this, but I've put it on my list for a future update.

I followed the step by step procedure you describe and in Auria Pro v2.23 I’m not having the issue you mention.
When I lower the SUB 1 fader both track 1 audio and reverb on track 2 fade out.
Would you please check if the problem still remains on your side? Maybe a short video showing the issue would be of help.
Re: Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Unfortunately it is still an issue when sending multiple tracks to a sub.
It does now seem to work when a single track is sent, but try adding two tracks sending to the sub, and the issue returns...
Could you let me know if this can be replicated?
I don't have smart-phone, so it's hard to make a video, but I'll investigate how to do it if it will help solve the problem!
Best,
Dan

Btw, you don't need a phone or camera to capture video. Your iPad can screen capture a video if you are running iOS 11 or later.wexdan wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 5:11 amHi,

Oh! Okay - well I'll look into that.

//EDIT - Can't seem to upload it - I just get an http error. I'll try again later.
(Right!
I've made a little movie that shows the issue.
You can see that track 3 is still receiving signal even after the sub fader is lowered.
As soon as I move the aux send pot, the level drops to 0.
I hope that helps.

Re: Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
I've experienced the same thing sending Aux outs from a Sub group.
It's as if the Aux is set to pre-fader rather than post.

Re: Aux send on sub group pre/post broken
I’m glad I’m not alone!
But it’s not quite as if the aux is set to pre fader - as soon as the aux send is touched when the fader is down, track three drops to zero, even though I actually moved the send level upwards.
