No input metering on new project

Had not used auria for a couple of months
never was a power user but managed to do some sessions
Attempting to do a new session today
don't seem to get metering on the inputs when Mics are connected
If I open an old session and arm a Chanel, I do get metering
what am I doing wrong?

Had a bit of weirdness with this lately. It's like they get reset sometimes. Spin the iPad into portrait, then back to landscape and see if that solves it. It's an issue that Rim is aware of, if that fixes it.
