In the seminar on mastering I did, he was using Logic. He had meters set up as a plug in that showed the peak DB, and the average DB. He also had a nice graphic plug in that showed the average amplitude by hz, which gave you an idea of where there were peaks and where things were rolled off. Gave an interesting persepective. I don't think the second is available in Auria, is it? Be a nice feature to add on.

Some of the Fabfilter plugins have what you're talking about - it's called a spectrum analyzer. For example, there's one in Pro-Q.
