Headphone jack question.

Is it true that when I connect the ipad to an external listening source using the headphone jack, connecting that to the "line" input of a lets say "home stereo", that I will only hear one side of the recording?

No, that's not true - you should get both L and R channels. But you need to use the right kind of cable. What you need in most cases is an 1/8" stereo to RCA cable.
