Track freeze

Post by Fil Ipo » Tue Aug 23, 2016 8:25 am

Hello,
I have issues when trying to freeze a track on a 30' project (track could be long or short it makes no difference). It starts freezing end never ends ?
I am working on a Pro 9.3.
All the other functions are working perfectly and I am particularly found of AP. What an incredible Daw
Thanks in advance for some help

Have you tried to give it some time, like a few minutes? It's possible there's a graphics issue that's not updating the status of the freeze.

Hello, yes it works ... but it needs around 9 minutes per track ( I have more than 20 tracks)
Anyway I will be patient
Thanks

Freezing can take a long time, depending on how many plugins you have on a track. As a general rule, if your CPU meter is at 50%, it will take half the time as your project length to freeze. For example, if the CPU is 50% and your project length is 30 minutes, it will take 15 minutes to freeze a track. But if your CPU is closer to 100%, it will take 30 minutes. 150% CPU will take 45 minutes, etc.

Ok thanks for the answer
Would it be faster on an iPad Pro 12 with more RAM than on my 9.3 ?

Definitely. The faster the iPad, the less CPU it's going to take for a given project.
