How would you record sample Tank as MIDI

Post by mtingle » Wed Feb 24, 2016 5:29 pm

Humm, thought this would be easy.

1 make a midi track
2. Expand the track till I can see the drop down menu
3. Select sample tank.
4. Arm track
5. rehurse performance
6. Rewind and record performance.
7. New midi part recorded is blank.

What else should I be doing?

No external controller.
iOS 9.2.1
Auria 2.03

When you say "No external controller", does that mean you're playing a virtual keyboard?

I'm pretty sure that Sampletank can only accept MIDI input, and doesn't output MIDI. You can, however record the MIDI notes into Auria, and use that to trigger Sampletank. You can then record the audio output from Sampletank onto another track in Auria.

See this post for a more detailed explanation. It's written about Korg Module, but the process is the same:

Ah, no midi with sample tank. That makes sense.

I'll try that link. Cheers,
Mike
