Re: 24 bit?

You shouldn't need to have GB running in the background. I would think that after you select the correct input, you could kill GB (double tap on the home button and close it). This way, it won't eat up extra memory. Auria needs all the memory it can get ;)

Re: The "Auria Wishlist Thread"

We've made it as blocky as we can when displaying more than 8 tracks. Making it more blocky didn't speed it up significantly. A faster iPad will solve this (iPad 3 is no faster in this regard).

Re: Using the Presonus 1818vsl

The 1818vsl works well, and that's the interface we used to record the Auria demo song (in a barn). The only caveat is that the 1818's headphone output is permanently connected to outputs 7&8, and iPads can only output on 1&2. So the headphone jack can't be used. Instead, you must use the iP...

Re: The "Auria Wishlist Thread"

- MP3 import/export is already a feature in Auria. Importing is done automatically through the import audio page (you'll see MP3 files listed there), and exporting MP3 is an option in the mixdown page. - Retina support for Auria will only come when a new ipad becomes available with more RAM and fast...

Re: About dithering

We decided against dither when converting from 32 or 24 to 16, but it may appear in a future version as an user selectable option. All internal recording is done at 24 bits.

Re: The Working / Not working audio interfaces thread

By the way, Most of these interfaces require a powered USB hub in order to use them with an iPad. We have been worked with both Focusrite and Presonus to fix this issue for the last few months (it stems from the fact that these interfaces report that they draw more power than they actually do, even ...

Re: Tascam US-800: Not available. How about US-600 ??

Have you tried using a USB hub with a US-800, then doing your SPDIF trick before you plug the CCK into the iPad? We haven't tried this here, and weren't aware of this trick. But it might work, since the US-800 will remain active the entire time, and probably won't get reset. There's no way to gain a...

Re: multi output ?

iPads only support 2 outputs, so we are stuck with this limitation for now. If and when this limitation goes away, Auria will support more than 2 outputs.

Re: Introductory price: $49.99 USD

We haven't decided on future pricing yet, but when we do, we will allow plenty of time, and make announcements ahead of time.

Thanks,

Re: 24 bit?

Erik, Auria records in 24 bit format, and can handle 16, 24 or 32 bit audio files. It also can record and play in 44.1, 48k and 96k sample rates. The only exception for bit depth is Audio Copy/Paste, which is limited to 16 bits, but that only applies if you import an audio copy/paste file from anoth...

Re: Very low output from iPad

The hardware buttons that control the volume on the side of your iPad are used to control the master volume of a USB device, when it's connected. Some USB devices default to a low volume, so just check your ipad's volume first.

Re: Account flagged for in-app purchases?

It might be because that plugin is more expensive than other ones you've tried? Just my guess.

Re: Mute region

You can silence a region, but that's a destructive process item (in the process menu).

Re: The Working / Not working audio interfaces thread

Good idea. We'll add them to our list.

Any interface which works on a mac without any drivers should work on an iPad.
Any interface which works on an iPad will work in Auria.
Almost any 2-channel interface will work (except digidesign interfaces)

Re: Account flagged for in-app purchases?

If you're getting that message, the only way to solve it is to contact Apple about it. All the messages that pop up in the Auria store come directly from Apple, so we have no control over them.
