- Some people say Keyboard is a "line level" input. Is this correct? >>> Yes. <<< - It is stated in many documents that "line level" input means balanced input. Is this correct? If not what does "line level" input actually mean? >>> No, that's not right, line level just...

Re: EQ The Mix To Sound Like iPad Speaker?

A bandpass around 2kHz with a narrow Q will likely get you close, though I haven't measured the output from an iPad specifically.

Re: Which Sample Rate is Best for Recording My Band?

Just stick with 44.1kHz is what I usually tell people. In my experience there's very few instances where a higher sample rate is THAT much better, and you can loose that benefit or make things worse if you don't use a quality sample rate convertor to get back to 44.1 at the end. Better just to stick...

Re: Normalizing

Do you have the compressor or limiter on already for that track? Maybe when you're normalizing you're crossing the threshold of one of those devices and it's pulling things down. Just a guess.

Re: ASK THE RECORDING EXPERTS

Why are you recording mid-side in the first place instead of stereo?

MIDI sync is for amateurs too, if you can't play in time you're not a musician. [/sarcasm off]

Re: Auria Built in Sample Rate Conversion

Shame Auria is not in the list here, we could compare the SRC with other DAWs:

I knew what you meant, just that your reasoning behind why this is might confuse people if it was wrong.

Re: Auria Built in Sample Rate Conversion

Just that Auria being a 64bit app has no impact on the bit depth of the audio processing, that's mostly just affects how much memory Auria can access (among other things). Here's a good summary that might help:

Re: Auria Built in Sample Rate Conversion

You're mixing up processing precision with storage bit depths, two totally different things I'm afraid.

Re: Is there a way to know if one ADC is better than another

No idea, personally I haven't used either. Either should be more than good enough for recording your guitar though, and I say that as a picky guitar player myself. Errr, no pun intended. :) I have used pretty much all of the Line 6 Pod devices over the years though, and always thought they sounded g...

Re: IPad Air 2 Ram?

I didn't do any specific tests on my Air 1 for comparison purposes, but it definitely felt like I could load more synths without running into issues. That said, I did still get the low memory warning a couple times while working on a trck last night. Nave was the main culprit, again.
